Fastnbulbous There's been a particularly heavy strain of apocalyptic post-punk that I've been enjoying via Finland's Beastmilk (now called Grave Pleasures), Philly's Dark Blue, and Denmark's Iceage and Lower. Better late to the party than never. How did I miss this band? It's a great blend of The Cure during their 'a forest' period and alternative rock. The first track Grandview plunges you into an ocean of psychodelic guitars and rythmic drums and like a siren lures you into the depths. A very accomplished album and although I wouldn't categorize it as Gothic it captures the early spirit of that dusty genre better than most contemporary bands nowadays. stargazing robot
